Prep samples for SEM
Preparing skeleton samples for scanning electron microscope
- Bleach the skeleton overnight, same method used for airbrushing.
- Let the skeleton dry, then cut the skeleton into fragments that fit the SEM stubs.
- Mount skeleton fragment onto one stub using the black adhesive tape.
- Put the mounted sample under vacuum for at least a couple days. Add grease to the black rubber within the dessiccator if it is too dry This is a picture of the set up for the vacuum:
- Store in the SEM box before imaging.
